Mr. Huang Ming, Chairman of the HI-MIN Group, is acclaimed as the “Ford” and “Solar King” in the solar thermal utilization industry, considered the pioneer of China’s solar energy industrialization. He holds over 100 national patents, serves as Vice Chairman of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), and has been a representative in the Tenth and Eleventh National People’s Congress of China. Additionally, he is a professor-level senior engineer, Vice Chairman of the China Renewable Energy Society, Vice Chairman of the China Energy Conservation Association, and Vice Chairman of the China Rural Energy Industry Association. He was named the Green China Annual Person in 2006, awarded the “Outstanding Contribution to Renewable Energy in China” by the World Wide Fund for Nature in 2007, and elected Vice Chairman of the International Solar Energy Society in September 2008. In October 2011, he received the 2011 Nobel Alternative Prize – Correct Lifestyle Award.
The “Chinese Solar Valley” created by HI-MIN is presently the largest research, testing, manufacturing, logistics center for solar thermal energy, and photovoltaic terminal research and production base globally. It is also the largest high-tech solar energy incubator in the world. According to plans, the Chinese Solar Valley aims to become a world-class center for renewable energy research and testing, manufacturing and logistics, science popularization education and demonstration, sightseeing tourism, and an international conference center – the “Five Centers.” Leveraging HI-MIN in Shandong’s Dezhou City, it successfully beat strong competitors from the United States, Japan, Italy, among others, in securing the bid to host the 4th World Solar City Conference in 2010. The conference took place in the Chinese Solar Valley in September 2010.
