Sichuan YOUFUN PAPER Group has two production bases in Muchuan County, Leshan City and Xuyong County, Luzhou City. Currently, it has 6 subsidiaries, a provincial engineering technology center, total assets of 3 billion yuan, an annual pulp and paper production capacity of 600,000 tons, sales revenue of over 2.5 billion yuan, and more than 1,800 employees, including over 500 technical personnel.
YOUFUN PAPER was founded in 1970 and was transformed into a joint stock limited company in 1993. The company currently has total assets of over 3 billion yuan, an annual pulp and paper production capacity of over 600,000 tons, an annual sales revenue of 2.5 billion yuan, and 2,000 employees. The company was the first in the same industry in China to pass ISO9001 quality system certification, ISO14001 environmental management system certification and forest system certification.
The company has a long history of bamboo pulp papermaking, rich products, a complete industrial chain and leading technical strength. It has two production bases in Leshan City and Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, covering more than 2 million mu of core bamboo raw material bases. The main products include: bamboo pulp boards, cultural paper, household paper and special paper. Among them: the bamboo pulp production capacity is 550,000 tons/year, and the bamboo pulp cultural paper production capacity is 70,000 tons/year, both ranking in the leading position. The household paper represented by the natural color is widely recognized by consumers, and the sales volume is growing rapidly. The “Sichuan Province Bamboo Pulp, Paper and Engineering Technology Research Center” affiliated to the company has 15 senior engineers, has achieved fruitful research results, and has undertaken the “Major Industrial Technology Development Special Project of the National Development and Reform Commission”.
Sichuan is a major province of bamboo resources. The bamboo pulp and paper industry is both an ecological industry and a poverty alleviation industry. Bamboo is a very ecological papermaking raw material with a short production cycle, strong carbon sequestration capacity, and recyclability, with continuous ecological protection functions. Since the 1990s, the company has always adhered to the integrated development strategy of bamboo pulp and paper, guided by the ideology of “being a leading industry and enriching the people”, and has accumulated subsidies of more than 70 million yuan to support farmers to plant bamboo, achieving multiple wins such as expanding the base, increasing farmers’ income, and greening the mountains and rivers. In Muchuan County where the production base is located, the bamboo forest area has increased from 20,000 mu in the early 1980s to 800,000 mu, and the forest coverage rate has reached 77.34%; after the company’s 200,000-ton bamboo pulp project settled in Xuyong County in 2010, the local bamboo forest area has increased from 970,000 mu to the current 1.3 million mu. At present, the company uses 2 million tons of fresh bamboo annually, promoting farmers’ income by 1.2 billion yuan each year. The per capita bamboo income of bamboo farmers in Muchuan and Xuyong counties has reached nearly 2,000 yuan. The continuous industrial drive will play a positive role in promoting poverty alleviation and enriching the people in the two poverty-stricken counties (Muchuan County and Xuyong County) and surrounding counties. The company also vigorously participates in public welfare undertakings and local poverty alleviation, and has accumulated an investment of more than 30 million yuan over the years for local forest area road construction, poverty-stricken household support and student sponsorship.
