Luzhou Laojiao, originating in the year 1573, is a representative of China’s strong aromatic Baijiu (white spirits). It emerged from a group of 36 ancient breweries during the Ming and Qing dynasties, evolving into a large state-owned backbone Baijiu enterprise in China. It inherits the traditional brewing techniques of Laojiao Sa, originating from ancient Jiangyang. It encompasses various brand products including “Guo Jiu 1573,” positioned as an ultra-premium Chinese Baijiu brand, “Century Laojiao Jiaoling Wine,” “Luzhou Laojiao Te Qu,” “Tou Qu,” and “Er Qu.”

The relentless Yangtze River and Tuo River have nurtured the birthplace of strong aromatic Baijiu – the city of Luzhou in Sichuan Province, China. “The city is known for its liquor, and the liquor flourishes with the city.” Luzhou Laojiao was born and flourished here, becoming the modern “Luzhou Laojiao Group Co., Ltd.” (hereinafter referred to as “Laojiao Group”) and “Luzhou Laojiao Co., Ltd.” (hereinafter referred to as “Laojiao Co., Ltd.”).

In 2021, Luzhou Laojiao achieved a revenue of 79.014 billion yuan and a total profit of 14.71 billion yuan. Among them, Laojiao Co., Ltd. achieved a revenue of 20.642 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 23.96%, and a net profit of 7.956 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 32.47%. In the first three quarters of 2022, Luzhou Laojiao achieved a revenue of 63.865 billion yuan and a total profit of 13.386 billion yuan. Among them, Laojiao Co., Ltd. achieved a revenue of 17.525 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 24.20%, and a net profit of 8.217 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 30.94%.

Luzhou Laojiao has become a strong state-owned backbone enterprise in China, a nationally renowned enterprise, and one of China’s top 500 enterprises.

Luzhou Laojiao is the pioneer, standard-setter, and brand shaper of strong aromatic techniques, and is hailed as the “ancestor of strong aroma.” After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, based on the 36 brewing workshops from the Ming and Qing dynasties, the “Luzhou Qujiu Factory” was established. In 1994, the “Luzhou Qujiu Factory” underwent a reform and was listed, officially renaming itself as “Luzhou Laojiao Co., Ltd.,” becoming the first enterprise in the national brewing industry to implement a shareholding system.

Luzhou Laojiao Group Co., Ltd. was established in December 2000, as a wholly state-owned enterprise. In September 2009, Luzhou State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission gratuitously transferred its holdings of Luzhou Laojiao shares to Luzhou Laojiao Group, establishing a parent-subsidiary relationship between Laojiao Group and Laojiao Co., Ltd. In recent years, Laojiao Group’s vision has been to “become a globally influential world-class production, finance, and holding group.” Through the “dual-wheel drive” of industry and finance, it focuses on the core liquor business, builds an ecologically dominant industrial chain “leading enterprise,” and leads the construction of a modern industrial ecosystem and a world-class industrial cluster.
