Aokang, officially known as China Aokang Group Co., Ltd., was established on August 8, 1988, with its headquarters located in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China. Its predecessor was Yongjia Aolin Shoe Factory. In August 1997, it was approved by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce as a nationwide non-regional group. Aokang is a large comprehensive group enterprise engaged in capital operation, brand operation, and industrial operation across various sectors, including footwear, finance, biopharmaceuticals, real estate, and more. It is the parent company of Zhejiang Aokang Shoes Co., Ltd. (Stock code: SH 603001) and Chengdu Kanghua Biotech Co., Ltd. (Stock code: SZ 300841), and ranks among the top 500 private enterprises in China.
As the founding and core industry of Aokang, Zhejiang Aokang Shoes Co., Ltd. focuses on comfortable men’s leather shoes as its brand mission. It owns multiple proprietary brands such as Aokang and Kanglong, as well as international collaboration brands like Warrior, Skechers, and Yidong Sports. It has become one of the largest private footwear manufacturers, operators, and retailers in China. On April 26, 2012, Zhejiang Aokang Shoes Co., Ltd. was officially listed on the A-share main board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, becoming the first private shoe company in China to go public on the A-share main board. As of 2020, the brand’s value reached 21.251 billion RMB.
On June 16, 2020, Chengdu Kanghua Biotech Co., Ltd., as another Aokang subsidiary, was listed on the GEM of A-share market. On September 10, 2020, the 2020 list of China’s top 500 private enterprises was released, with Aokang Group Co., Ltd. ranking 473rd with an operating income of 21.53188 billion RMB.
On August 26, 2021, Aokang International released its 2021 interim report, stating that the company achieved an operating income of 1.522 billion RMB during the reporting period, a year-on-year increase of 52.44%, and a net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of 81.31 million RMB, a year-on-year increase of 331.95%.
In 2007, Aokang established the Aokang Footwear Technology Research Institute, which later received recognition as the “China Light Industry Federation Industrial Design Center,” “Zhejiang Provincial Industrial Design Center,” “Zhejiang Provincial Enterprise Technology Center,” “Zhejiang Provincial Enterprise Research Institute,” and “National Industrial Design Center.” It obtained 166 R&D patents, participated in or led the formulation of 2 international standards, 5 national standards, and 7 industry standards.
In 2003, Aokang began researching private custom foot shape measurement devices and officially launched the foot shape measurement device R&D project. In 2007, it successfully developed China’s first foot shape measurement device in collaboration with Zhejiang University.
In 2008, the 2.0 version of the intelligent shoe last imaging foot shape measurement device with high precision was successfully developed.
In 2010, the digital R&D center was established, and the digital R&D project was officially launched.
In 2013, Aokang’s shoeless experience hall for private customization made its debut at the Shanghai International Leather Fair.
In 2015, Aokang initiated smart manufacturing and built smart factories.
In 2017, it launched the C2M high-end customization strategy and introduced the 3.0 version of the 3D foot shape measurement device.
In 2018, the first smart store C2M customization experience hall was completed.
In 2019, it built the C2M digital business intelligence platform, and the 4.0 version of the 3D digital foot shape measurement device was introduced.
In 2020, the fifth-generation foot shape measurement device was successfully developed, increasing the possibilities for mobile customization, bringing customization to the customers.
