Yunnan Daetea Group Co., Ltd., with its core enterprise Menghai Tea Factory, is a leader in China’s tea industry and was founded in 1940. Guided by the core values of “cherish tea and love people,” the company adheres to the code of conduct that respects the dignity of tea professionals and promotes the spirit of “tea brings benevolence.” After 81 years of hard work, it has developed into a modern large-scale enterprise group with Pu’er tea at its core, spanning the entire industry chain of research, cultivation, production, marketing, and culture. It leads the industry in terms of production scale, sales revenue, tax contributions, and brand influence, with over 2,000 exclusive brand stores.
The production source of Daetea Group is located in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, the core region for Pu’er tea and the birthplace of tea trees worldwide. To ensure the richness and quality of Pu’er tea raw materials, Daetea Group began to establish its Pu’er tea source network in 2004. TAE owns two self-owned eco-tea gardens, Badashan and Brownshan, covering over 10,000 mu (about 1,650 acres), with more than 200 primary processing stations spread across major tea mountains. It has accumulated over 60,000 tons of continuously stored raw materials, creating a unique advantage in raw material storage.
Tae’s Pu’er tea production techniques have been included in China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Key technologies include blending and fermentation techniques, which form the core of TAE’s tea-making craftsmanship. These techniques have laid the foundation for the modern development of Pu’er tea and set the standards for the Pu’er tea industry. TAE’s tea-making equipment, production capacity, and quality assurance are at the forefront of the industry. With a modern factory covering an area of over 700 mu (about 115 acres), TAE has invested over one hundred million yuan to establish a Microbial Research and Development Center and a national laboratory. Using modern tea production lines, standard industrial processes, and advanced microbial tea-making technology, TAE guides the stable development of the Pu’er tea industry. In 2013, TAE Group invested over one hundred million yuan to establish the Microbial Research and Development Center (TAE Microbial Technology Co., Ltd.) and established a pilot plant verification workshop.
TAE Group has a complete research and development system and a rigorous intellectual property management system. It has been recognized as a postdoctoral workstation and an academician workstation. As of December 31, 2021, TAE Group owns 1,151 valid trademarks, including 809 domestic trademark certificates and 342 international trademark certificates. The group holds a total of 175 valid patents, including 47 invention patents, 22 utility model patents, and 106 design patents. TAE Group has applied for 151 copyright registration certificates, all of which have been granted copyright registration certificates.
TAE has deepened its presence in the field of Pu’er tea and diversified its product portfolio to include tea, water, teaware, tea culture, and health-oriented products. Its sales channels span mainland China as well as Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and other regions. It has established over 2,000 authorized Daetea specialty stores nationwide.
