Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co., Ltd. was founded in 1987 and is China’s largest and the world’s fifth-largest food and beverage production company. It has consistently ranked first in China’s beverage industry for 11 consecutive years in terms of sales revenue, profits, and taxes, making it the largest, most profitable, and most promising food and beverage enterprise in China. In 2010, it was ranked 8th among China’s top 500 private enterprises.

In March 2015, Wahaha Group became involved in the Milan stock transfer, with reports suggesting that Zong Qinghou would initially acquire a small stake in Milan and gradually increase his ownership to 75% within three years.

In August 2016, Hangzhou Wahaha Group ranked 271st in the “2016 China Top 500 Enterprises” list. In December 2019, Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co., Ltd. was selected as one of the “Top 100 Brands” in the 2019 China Brand Strong Country Summit. On December 18, 2019, it ranked 88th in the People’s Daily “China Brand Development Index” top 100 list. In December 2020, it was recognized as an advanced private enterprise in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. On September 12, 2023, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce released the “2023 China Top 500 Private Enterprises” list, with Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co., Ltd. ranking 227th with a revenue of 51.2 billion yuan.

Wahaha is a massive kingdom of beverages. When it was first established, Zong Qinghou put a lot of effort into naming the nutritional oral liquid produced by his company, even using the media to solicit names from the public. Wahaha’s products mainly cover more than ten categories and over 200 varieties, including protein drinks, packaged drinking water, carbonated beverages, tea beverages, fruit and vegetable juice beverages, coffee beverages, plant-based beverages, special-purpose beverages, canned foods, dairy products, pharmaceutical and health food, making it a leading enterprise in the Chinese food and beverage industry. In addition to food and beverage research and manufacturing, Wahaha is also an enterprise with the capability to independently develop, design, and manufacture molds and beverage production equipment and industrial robots in the food and beverage industry.

In recent years, Wahaha has embarked on research and industrialization projects related to health products, striving to contribute to the health of the Chinese people.
