Founded in 1958 and under the umbrella of Midea Group, Little Swan Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. is a large enterprise that specializes in technological innovation, product development, manufacturing, and after-sales service for a wide range of washing machines, including fully automatic agitator, drum, and top-loading washing machines, as well as IoT-enabled washing machines.

The predecessor of Little Swan Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. was established in 1958. From the birth of the first fully automatic washing machine in China in 1978 to achieving a brand value of 20 billion RMB in 2015, it has become a global household appliance manufacturer capable of simultaneously producing various types of fully automatic washing machines, including agitator, drum, and top-loading models. Each step of Little Swan’s history has confirmed its success.

Little Swan boasts a Chinese national-recognized enterprise technology center and relies on technology strategic alliances. It emphasizes independent innovation and possesses internationally leading core technologies in areas such as variable frequency technology, intelligent drive control, structural design, and industrial design for washing machines. The research and development team consists of 500 experts, and the company has accumulated over 5,000 independent intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Little Swan has established a full-quality chain model that aligns with global quality standards. Vertically, it focuses on “technological innovation” and constantly introduces cutting-edge technologies, application technologies, and products to fill market gaps. Horizontally, it prioritizes “customer demand” and builds a quality chain across the entire process, including technological innovation, product development, manufacturing, and after-sales service. The company has a national laboratory, a German VDE laboratory, a UL laboratory, and a testing center with 35 laboratories in total. Development Milestones:

• In 1990, Little Swan washing machine received the National Gold Award in the industry.
• In 1997, the Little Swan brand was recognized as the first famous trademark in the Chinese washing machine industry.
• In 2001, Little Swan washing machine was honored with the title of China Famous Brand Product.
• In 2005, Little Swan was recognized as a key cultivated and developed Chinese export brand by the Ministry of Commerce.
• In 2006, Little Swan won the Gold Award for Credible Brand by Reader’s Digest in the United States.
• In 2007, the Ministry of Commerce recognized Little Swan as the brand with the most market competitiveness.
• In 2008, Midea acquired a 24.01% stake in Little Swan, creating a new development platform through cooperation.

In June 2010, Little Swan Washing Machine and Fujitsu Semiconductor jointly established a research laboratory aimed at strengthening their cooperation and expanding their areas of collaboration. The laboratory was created as a platform for research and development exchanges in areas such as variable frequency control technology, IoT technology, and multimedia technology. Research directions include three-phase AC variable frequency projects, direct drive (DD) projects, single-chip variable frequency solution projects, IoT projects, and more.

In October 2018, Midea Group proposed an A-share issuance, stock swap, and merger with Little Swan. As a result, Little Swan ceased to be publicly listed and its legal entity was canceled.
